Our Foundation
Asset Protection Specialists, LLC, was founded in early 2007. What started off as a small business located in Ankeny has rapidly grown into a company that serves the needs of Iowans in communities across the state.
In the beginning we focused primarily on home and business inventories. Insurance companies have always encouraged people to create an inventory of their property, but most people do not. We spent several months working with insurance agents and former claims adjusters to learn the process when a loss occurs. We used this information to create a detailed process to photo and video catalog property, record crucial information on items and backup receipts and records. The final product has gained so much attention from insurance agents and companies that many of them now recommend us in offices all over Iowa.
Our Growth
In June of 2007, at the request of a few clients, I did some research into Identity Theft Protection. One company in particular, LifeLock, stood out as an industry leader. For years they have offered their One Million Dollar Guarantee as a commitment to protecting people’s identities. It did not take long for me to realize that I should extend their services to my clients. After forming an affiliation with LifeLock in August 2007, we can now offer that same service and guarantee—at a lower cost.
In May 2008, while reading local publications, I noticed an alarming number of burglaries to both homes and businesses across Iowa. I began to research low cost solutions for people to protect their families and possessions. I discovered a company called LaserShield that offers an extremely innovative product called the PlugNGo security system. The LaserShield brand has grown to be one of the most desired and admired names for consumers. The LaserShield line offers the only PlugNGo security solution with 24/7 monitoring that can be activated at the point of purchase. Because of their outstanding service and reputation, it only seemed logical for me to offer this product to my clients. In July 2008, we became one of the first independent dealers of LaserShield products in Iowa.
